Ride the Rideau - September 11, 2010 Support
"The Booners #1 Team"
Our bake sale of June 23rd and 24th was a resounding success with $2,342.00 raised towards our team goal of $20,000 for Cancer research. A huge thanks to the organizers Francine Roussy, Kathy Houle, Chantal Généreux and Sylvie Hull. Our gratitude to all those who supplied the goodies and to those who enjoyed them. A special word of appreciation to Sylvie and Mélanie Cyr for the great basket and massage gift certificate that raised $410.00. Pierre Charron was the lucky winner of the massage gift certificate and Josée Lemieux won the great basket. Congratulations!

BBQ Event - Ride the Rideau Fundraiser
July 21, 2010
Zurn has agreed to sponsor a "Ride the Rideau" BBQ on Wednesday July 21, 2010 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. We will accept any donation towards the Booners #1 team objective of $20,000. Come visit your friends and enjoy a great burger and hot dog. We are all in this together and all funds go directly to support local Cancer Research. Thanks for caring!

Toilet Replacement Rebate Program Ended
Ottawa city council has terminated the toilet replacement program effective June 30th, 2010. Receipts must be dated or date stamped by the retailer on or before June 30th, 2010 to be considered. Rebate applications must be received by the City on or before August 31st, 2010. For more details, visit ottawa.ca/waterwise.

In Memoriam - Roger Lalonde
Roger Lalonde, our friend and colleague, passed away on Thursday May 13, 2010 at the age of 50. We express our deepest sympathies to his wife Johanne, his mother Lucienne, his brothers, sister and to all his relatives and friends who cared for him. At a celebration of his life May 15, 2010, many expressed how Roger had touched their lives as he courageously fought his battle with cancer. We will continue to honour his legacy by participating in the "Ride the Rideau Bike Race" to raise funds for Cancer Research on September 11, 2010.

Please visit our race site www.ridetherideau.ca and support us as we bike 100 km from Ottawa to Merrickville-Wolford. All proceeds will fund local cancer research.
In the last 10 years, we have probably learned more about the fundamental biology underlying health and disease than in all the previous 100 years. The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) is at the forefront of this brave new era, with a number of exciting projects now moving forward. Examples include new clinical trials to test viruses that selectively attack cancer cells while leaving normal cells intact and the CyberKnife, a pain-free, non-invasive radiosurgical treatment for tumors anywhere in the body. The funds raised by Ride the Rideau will go directly to support cancer research at the OHRI. People you know will be counting on us for timely care and innovative treatment.

In all aspects of decor, we've seen angles replacing a generation of "soft look" products in recent years. In sink construction, the extreme examples of this we've seen have come with fabricated sinks boasting zero or near-zero radii in the corners. Great look, but not the answer for everyone's pocketbook. So what about drawn sinks -- how do we get those more in step with these angular times?
That was the challenge we threw at our Kindred engineers recently, and the result is our exciting next generation Steel Queen series that reduce corner radii from 2-3/4" to 2". For a line that already provided more bowl capacity (area-wise) than any competitor, this gives us even more bragging rights. Of Added benefit resulting from this change, our Spillway design has also been enhanced with straighter walls and a more contemporary appearance.
Here are the key facts you need to know about this revamped Professional Choice series:
- The radius change will NOT affect fit or finish, price and model names (there will be no change to nomenclature).
- Installation method for the affected models will remain as it is today, as will the cutout template and hardware.

WaterAlarm Plus (WA-5000)
The WaterAlarm Plus will call to warn you of leaking pipes, appliances, burst pipes or overflowing sumps. If water is detected by the water sensor, an 85 decibel alarm will sound and the unit will begin calling one telephone number to warn you of a water emergency at your monitored location. The WaterAlarm Plus will continue to call the one phone number and play a factory recorded alarm message until someone calls and cancels the alarm call-out. Add more sensors to cover larger areas.

Trevor Mitchell
Trevor joins our Algoma counter team from our Kanata location. He gained product knowledge over the past 7 years by working in packing, receiving, shipping and at our Kanata counter these past few years. Trevor enjoys family life, fishing, baseball and hockey during his leisure time off. You can reach him at extension 271.
Guy Charbonneau
Guy is the new Warehouse Manager and is responsible for the packing and shipping departments. Along with his supervisor team, he assures accurate order picking, pick ups and deliveries. Guy has been a Booner for 14 years. He enjoys driving his convertible and is an avid Nascar fan. You can reach him at extension 145.
